Psd won't save correctly - blank thumbnail!

Hi, I'm really hoping someone can help me here - suddenly I'm unable to save .psd files! I can open existing files I have, but as soon as I edit them or add any layers, it either corrupts the thumbnail with warped colours or saves as plain blank white file.  When I try to open the affected file from Finder, the psd appears fine within photoshop.  Could the settings messed up somewhere? I can't figure it out myself. I uninstalled 24.1.1 thinking it was the update but even with 24.1.0 it's still happening 😞  I am running Ventura on 13.1 Apple M1 Pro. At this point I feel it's a photoshop problem but could also be the Ventura recent update too? Anyone else having this issue?  I'm unable to work properly and it's getting really frustrating, any help would be greatly appreciated. - Thank you.

I believe I’ve found the culprit in the File handling options - ‘Maximise PSD and PSB File Compatibility’ was set to Never. So I’ve changed this to Always and it seems to be saving files correctly now. The thumbnails once again visible in finder. The new update must have toggled some settings as I’ve never had this problem before. Hopefully sorted now, phew!

Unlike your case, I can see the thumbnail as if the image has been cut off (the rest of the area has been erased).
Like a png file. But I didn't cut out and all the layers are flat, so there's no reason to look like that.
I don't know exactly when, but it's been a while for me. At least 6 months?
It didn't happen in Photoshop 2020 and 2021, and it happened since 2022.
But the image itself was not damaged or had any other problems, so I didn't report a bug and was just using it. lol
btw, my desktop is Window10, not Mac.

Not PNG. Just PSD file. And it doesn't do that to all images, but it affects thumbnails only in some images.
Of course, that's not the case with real images.

I see... Windows does not natively render PSD thumbnails as I recall. You need a third party extension for this. What utility are you using to render thumbs?

Windows: Edit > Preferences > File Handling
Mac: Photoshop > Preferences > File Handling

Within the File Saving Options section are options that deal with Image Previews and Thumbnail. Does this help?

A few things to try/check:

1. Make sure Photoshop is listed (and active) under Apple System Preferences/Security and Privacy/ Full Disk Access

2. Go to Photoshop Prefrences/Technology Preview and check "Disable Native Canvas".
