Quck selection tool isssue

I can no longer use the quick selection tool to change a shape color. I have PS 2019. Do I need to upgrade to 2020?

You can not select pixels in a shape and change their color.  A shape layer is a fill layer you need to use a shape tool and the tool option bar fill option. Empty,, solid color, gradient or Pattern

Hi your statement has two ways shape mean you can change color using quick selection or also told already shape layer is vector shape which can edited easily....regards

Could you post a screen capture that includes your Layers panel?

I found a workaround. I'm using the rectangle tool and then modifying with Transform Path to skew object. I'm about ready to upgrade to PS 2020 so, I'll see if that fixes this 2019 version bug.
