Quick Export to PNG... a rabbit hole of trouble.

Posting this as a bug, but maybe just because it bugs me.

For a while I have been unable to perform the "Quick Export to PNG" feature in Photoshop. I ran the update today and the problem has not gone away so here I am.

This machine is an M1 Mac mini (base unit)

Current OS is: Sonoma 14.4.1

Adobe Photoshop version: 25.7.0 (but this problem first appeared before this update)

I have read and attempted to follow the suggested fixes:

  1. Reset Preferences (done a handful of times)
  2. Grant photoshop full disk access (see below)

For some reason, either MacOs or Adobe based, I cannot grant full disk access to Photoshop. I select the add symbol, lead it to Photoshop and click - nothing happens. I don't get the "Blah blah when the application quits and is reopened" that appears whenever doing this with other apps.

The feature also doesn't work in Photoshop (beta) which DOES appear to have full disk access.Screenshot 2024-04-23 at 4.49.20 PM.png

So, I'm pretty stumped. This is a work machine for me, so a full wipe and restore is not unreasonable, but preferably as a last resort.

thanks for any suggestions

Toby

You shouldn't need full disk access to use the quick export to png function. I don't have full access granted to my Photoshop and I am able to export without issue. What is happening when you click the quick export? Are you getting an error?
