Quick Selection Issues

New Here ,
Jun 26, 2018 Jun 26, 2018

I'm trying to utilize quick select and it will not work on any of my photos.  I keep getting the same prompt every time I try:

"Could not use the Quick Selection because there is not enough memory (RAM)."

Adobe CC 2018

I do not use Photoshop on a daily basis.  Does it mean I have multiple things running without my knowledge?  Do I need to erase some content?  Do I need to update?  I pay a monthly subscription to use the program so I shouldn't have any issues that aren't fixable.  I wrote in to the Adobe Help Center and they never got back to me.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

If your using windows 10 with the latest updates that could be the issue because of a bug in windows that doesn't allow photoshop to use the amount of it should be able to use, which adobe fixed in the 19.1.5 update.

What exact version of photoshop CC 2018 do you have?

In photoshop go to Help>System Info and the top line is the Photoshop Version.

Jeff is this likely to be the issue fixed with 19.1.5 ?  We had a huge flood of posts about it a week or two back.  Completely filled the first two pages of the forum.

Karik, open Photoshop and go Help > About Photoshop CC

If you are not using 19.1.5 then update Photoshop.  As far as I know, that should fix it.

You can also check your memory usage by going to Performance Monitor by searching it in the start menu (Windows).
This message mean that you have not enough RAM memory, once you close other applications that use your memory, it will work again.
It may be because your image is so large.

You can also go to Edit>Purge>All in photoshop to free your memory.
