Quick Selection Tool

Using Photoshop v. 2017.0.0, I want to select the current object of more-or-less uniform colors surrounding the cursor. I'm assuming that I should use the  quick-selection tool for this. Where is the icon for the quick-selection tool now located, in PS v. 2017?

I know that I have done this in the past, just having a recall issue about how to select/configure an existing tool, with which I can create a selection within an image, which I can then copy and paste into another image. Hope this is clear (?).

    once you did your selection , Go to   select -> save selection

    to get it back ... select -> load selection

    By default, my quick selection tool is set to select a color range. I need to select a geometrical range. In this present case my desired selection is defined by a distinct shape with distinct, contrasting colors. I have done this before, many times. Just cannot recall which tool to select, and how to set it up.

    I have now made a partial selection of the desired area. Now I need to enter the area with a selection brush and add in the painted areas. What brush do I use for this?
