"About Photoshop" Grayed Out

I am running macOS Sequoia 15.2 on a Nov 2024 MacBook Pro (M4 chip).

I have updated Photohop 2025 to v26.1.

When I click the "Photoshop" tab on the Menu Bar the "About Photoshop..." line is grayed out.

Is this a bug? Or is there some obscure setting that I am missing?

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance,

Stan

Hello and Happy New Year Anshul,

Thank you for your response. It means a great deat that you will go to thr trouble to do so.

For some unknown reason the grayed out "About Photoshop..." started appearing normally.

I don't know what I may have done other than to restart Photoshop from the finder and also restart my computer to cause this to start behaving normally.

I am now running Photoshop 26.6 and macOS Sequoia 15.2.All is well.

Best regards and thanks again,

Stan

Hello Anshui,

Thank you for your reply.

Here is a screenshot of the issue:

Interestingly this happens when I open Photoshop from the dock and when I open Photoshop from the CCDA.

And if I subsequently open an image file the gray out disappears, and "About Photoshop..." appears normally.

Thanks again for your reply and recommendations. Looking forward to a fix to this minor issue.

Stan

Thanks for providing the additional details and the screenshot!

We tried replicating this issue on macOS Sequoia 15.2 and Sonoma 14.7.2 with Photoshop version 26.2, but we couldn’t reproduce the behavior where “About Photoshop” is grayed out.

Would you mind updating Photoshop to the latest version available and checking if this resolves the issue? Sometimes, updates include fixes for minor glitches like this.

Let us know how it goes or if the issue persists after updating—we’re here to assist further!

Hi @Stan Burman,

Thanks for sharing the details about your setup. I understand how puzzling it can be when the “About Photoshop” option is grayed out. Let’s try to get this sorted for you.

Could you share a screenshot of your Photoshop menu where this is happening? That will help us better understand what you’re seeing.

In the meantime, try this:

• Launch Photoshop directly from the Creative Cloud Desktop app (CCDA) instead of the dock or applications folder. Sometimes, launching from CCDA can resolve unexpected behaviors.

Once you’ve tried this, let us know if the issue persists. We’re here to help!

Best,

Anshul Saini
