I have just read that Photoshop has introduced "GPU compositing" back in April. This option has never been available on my copy, and I can't determine the reason. I keep my app up to date at all times, right now I'm on 23.5
I have Intel i7-5820k, 32 GB RAM, with the GPU NVIDIA GTX 960 2GB VRAM. The GPU is properly detected. See the attached screenshot.
Why don't I have this option and is there a way to enable this?
GPU compositing was removed some time ago, I can't remember the exact version but Adobe removed it because it was causing majors issues for some particular feature, so Adobe decided to bin it for the time been.

Hi – I just checked - I didn't either!
Please, someone from the Adobe team?

My understanding was that the option to switch off GPU compositing manually was removed, not the actual function.

You could be correct Dave, I can't remember what actually happened at the time, either way the option is gone 😀
