"Save as" key shortcut doesn't work

Explorer ,
Nov 10, 2022 Nov 10, 2022

Hi,

so after I updated to Windows 11, I noticed that all three-key-shortcuts doesn't seem to work anymore, for instance "save as". This is the case in Photoshop as well as Illustrator and Acrobat.
The menu entry shows "Shift-CRTL-S" but nothing is happening if I press those buttons.

Can's figure out if it's an Adobe issue or a Windows issue.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

The only way that I've come across to do a save as with the new updates is to do a fake print and change it from your printer (scroll down to Microsoft print to PDF) and it will let you save to whichever file folder you want it saved to hope this helps!!

Ctrl + Shift + S works for me, running 24.0.1 Photoshop on Win 11.

Well, even after a complete reinstall + update, I can't use three key keyboard shortcuts in any of the adobe programs I use (AI, PS, ID). Other, non Adobe applications are just fine....

Any idea?

Go to Preferences/File Handling and Enable Legacy Save As.

I don't have that option under file handing.

Furthemore, when I am trying to save-as on my workspace machine, it works.
When I'm connecting from a Windows-11 PC via remote connection to that workspace machine, it will not recognize the save-as shortcut. .. Huh?? I'm out of ideas right now...

That is your issue - remote connection.  That is effecting your keyboard shortcut. I always have issues with shortcuts on a Windows remote machine. It's not recommended.

Hm.... not 100% sure.
When I run AI/PS/ID on my home PC (Windows11), I also have this issue.
I'm suspecting something strange around Windows11 that's messing things up...
When I bring up the screen keyboard, it will recognize ctrl-shift-S perfectly fine, it's just not doing anything in Adobe.

If you go to the Menu - what does it show for a keyboard shortcut?

Did you update your Photoshop? What version are you running?

The menu shows exactly the shortcut I'm expecting, CTRL-Shirft-S (e.g. for save-as).
I'm always running the latest versions for all applications.

I am primarily using Illustrator for work, but I noticed the issue in InDesign and Photoshop too.

Have you tried resetting your preferences? Go to Photoshop Preferences/General and click reset preferences upon Quit.

It's Photoshop, not Windows. Now you have to use alt button

As I stated multiple times above, I have the issue with Illustrator and InDesign as well.
Also, the menu also shows CTRL, not ALT.

Will try another keyboart, maybe it's some sort oft hardware/driver issue....

For anyone who ran into this issue also, Marcus is right, instead of "Shift-CRTL-S" for save as, i changed it to "ctrl-alt-s" as a shortcut for my Wacom tablet, and it worked.

Everyone seems to be asking the same question and I've actually run into this problem with one of the Adobe updates. I don't think it has anything to do with windows. The easiest way to do a save as in newest Adobe is to do your control+ P or your print key and then change it from your printer to Microsoft print to PDF and then you can save it to whichever file you need it saved to hope this helps everyone !!!
