"this file uses an unsupported blending mode"

I am having a reoccurring issue re-opening files in Photoshop and receive the error of missing blending modes. This is a reoccurring issue that has caused me to recreate my files many times.

The error is "This file uses an unsupported blending mode", and makes all artborad flatten.

Does anyone can help me solve this problem?

Which Photoshop version?

Did you create the files from scratch or did you receive data from someone who might be using a higher version?

The issue might be plain unfortunate file-corruption, though.

What do you see for the blending mode when you choose Cancel?
