OK, but maybe there is a command that corrects the image size.

But my question then arises: when i need just a Minute to fix The d600 nefs with the imagesize probleme, why can Adobe do Not Update lr and cs6 in a few hours. So i Must what a few Day, Werks Or Month!!!

No, you didn't "fix" anything as far as Adobe Camera Raw is concerned.  At best you can trick ACR into thinking the image files come from a different camera.  The results will be questionable.

Adobe, on the other hand, must first get their hands on a working production model of the camera, develop a number of profiles for it and carry extensive tests before they can support the camera.  Each camera model generates different raw NEFs.

Yes, its right. But Its Adobes Job! When i buy a Premium product like cs6 Or lr 4 i want perfekt Support. I Hope the final lr 4.2 Works with the d600. The Same Probleme i had with sonys rx100. Lr 4.2 rc fixed the problrme.

So the fixed d600 nefs look very Good. Only the crop isnt Fine.

Elcaracho87, it might be Adobe's Job, but they must frist purchase a camera, then start working on it. Some camera manufacturers work closely with Adobe and other raw converters creators, and ship them camera to have day 0 support... Do complaint @ Nikon first.

I'm having problems with this method.  I've downloaded the windows exiftool and have placed it in my test folder containing D600 files.  When I run the software it says --More-- which I then paste the command line above and hit enter.  But it doesn't seem to do anything.  I do not see any new EXIF data added to the file.  What am I doing wrong?

Also would it be better to change the camera model to D3X so the megapixels are the same?  I'm trying to get access to the Nikon Picture Profiles that are not included in the LR 4.2 update....will changing the EXIF allow me to get access to Vivid, Landscape, Neutral, etc?

Having a similar problem - don't be an early adoptor lol

D600 went on sale in UK yesterday and I was lucky enough to get one...

However, should have realised no RAW support yet from Adobe - also I am still on the previous versions of Lightroom and photoshop !

The suggested DNG converter above also does not work - or hasnt been updated for D600 NEF files yet so that's not an option either - so I'm stuffed !!!

Any other suggestions???

Perhaps you should just enjoy shooting JPEG or (if it's possible with Nikon) Raw + JPEG for the next few months until the software supports it.  And no doubt Nikon themselves have provided some kind of converter.

I'm an incurable hardware geek myself, but I do try to think ahead at least a *little* before I spend thousands of dollars.

Hi Guys,

Nothing like going off topic - and to what end?

Pentax is irrelevant, question specifically relates to the D600 - if you can answer the question great otherwise...

Thanks!

The D600 question was fully answered in post #2.  For the time being the D600 topic is unfortunately exhausted, until such a time as ACR supports the camera.

As previously mentioned, the DNG converter has not been upgraded for the D600 yet.  For now, I'm mainly shooting JPEG's until Adobe updates it's DNG converter.  I don't really like the idea of tricking the software into thinking it's a D800 shot and losing some info with the crop.  There is another cumbersome work around that I will use only for "special" shots.  You can download the NEF file using Nikon's ViewNX 2 software that comes with the D600 and use that program to convert the file to TIFF (= huge file size).  Now you can open the TIFF file with Adobe camera raw and process it.  Time consuming but will work for shots that you really want to process in RAW.

LR4 and DNG coverter updates are now available!  No problem converting a few of the NEF's I initially shot and opening in photoshop raw.  Haven't had much time to play with it yet.  Hate it when work interfers with fun!

Hi,

With ACR 7.2/Lr 4.2 the D600 has prelimenary support.

blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2012/10/lightroom-4-2-now-available.html

Please note that the support for Nikon D600 is preliminary and there is a minor risk that the appearance of your images may change when the final support for Nikon D600 is available in an upcoming release.

I just wanted to point that out in case you missed it. If you have more questions, check in the Camera Raw forums (http://forums.adobe.com/community/cameraraw)

regards,

steve
