Did you manage to solve this? I've got the same issue and the new version of PS has a Unified Text Engine so thoptions described above are no longer possible.

Hi @debrah_2870! Thank you for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear about your issue. Since this thread is a bit old, starting a new one with all the details of your problem might be best. That way, your comments won't get lost, and you'll get the help you need more quickly. I'll do this for you!

Could you please share the version of Photoshop and the OS you're using? When did you start noticing this issue? Is it happening every time you work with text layers or certain fonts?

In the meantime here are some things to try out:

    1) Copy text from the broken layer > paste into a fresh text layer > delete the bad one.

    2) Turn off GPU: Navigate to Edit > Preferences > Performance and Uncheck Use Graphics Processor, then Restart Photoshop. Update your GPU drivers to the latest Studio Version provided by the manufacturer and turn it back on.

    3) Reset Preferences in Photoshop: Be sure to back them up first before resetting. Here is a HelpX article for steps and more information: Preferences in Photoshop

    Hope this helps!

Let us know how it goes!
