Recent brush list locks brushes to specific tools

Hi, this seems like a new feature that was added in 2018, it really goes directly against my workflow so I'd like to turn it off, but I'm not even sure what its called? Once in a while when I right click while using a brush tool and bring up the recent brushes list, some of the brush tips are locked to specific tools, either eraser or brush. Sometimes I'd like to switch to, say, a hard round tip on the eraser tool, but its permanently locked to the brush tool, when I select that tip from the list it will automatically switch to the eraser tool. Brushes affected by this have a small icon on the top right of the tool it is locked to. Is it possible to turn this option off? Thanks in advance!
