I've come from CS6 and just started working in Ps CC.

As I'm playing around, getting a feel of things, I'm getting psds saved in the CC Cloud, or I think that is where they are being saved, but these are files that I don't intend to keep, so how do I get rid of them?

Your files are saved to your local computer, in a folder of your choice.

If you just accepted the default location, chances are that they are in the Pictures or My Pictures folder under your username.

You also get some cloud storage space with your CC subscription, but it requires that you save your files locally first - in the Creative Cloud Files folder, also under your username.

If you want to delete files, Photoshop doesn't do this, you must use the OS (Mac Finder/Windows Explorer).

If you want to stop files from appearing in the File > Open recent list, choose Clear recent file list at the bottom of the list.

Thanks for the input and prompt too!

That two step process seems a bit... if you know what I mean!? But I suppose if that's the way... then that's the way!

I do, 'Save As' whenever i start a project, but it was the fact that it showed this thumbnail image in the Ps CC window that I wasn't familiar  with, but I then noticed that if I hover over the image, rather than keep trying to Right Click it, it shows the route to that file.

I'm hoping that Ps CC isn't going to be a major learning curve of difference!?

Many thank again... I'm sure I'll be back!

Note - the two step, approach I described above, only applies to files you have saved to the cloud.

Personally I just save to local folders on my PC the way I always did - that way keeping, backing up or or deleting works the same as it always did.

Hi Dave...

It's the CC thing I need to get my head around, but I'm the same as you... save to a place you know and deal accordingly too!

Many thanks!

You need to use a two step process to delete the file.

Step 1 - Archive the file
Go to the creative cloud desktop app and choose "Assets" then Files and click on "view on Web"

Then Click on the down arrow under the image you want to archive and select Archive

Step 2 - Delete the image from the archive

From the menu on the left click on "Archived"

Select the images in the archive for deletion by ticking the boxes and then click on "Permanently Delete"

I hope that helps you

The "cloud" is just a Dropbox. If you ever used that, you know how it works.

The applications themselves work locally on your machine just like they always have. The only "cloud" aspect here is an online licensing check routine - or if you stretch the concept, the online installers.

As I've said before, the whole "Creative Cloud" name is misleading and unfortunate, giving people all the wrong ideas about how this works.

Hi and thanks for that!

I just think of the Cloud... DropBox... or CC as a hard drive on someone else's machine!? Most of these cost and I think they like you to decide to save everything on their server.. fill up your cloud/HD and have to buy more! Or is that me being clinical!?

I've always started a project by using, 'Save As' to dictate where I keep my files.

Thanks again... the more people I meet here, the more I'm enjoying this forum!
