Remove tool not working

I am using both Photoshop 26 and 26.2 Beta...

In 26 the remove tool covers an area in pink higlight but does nothing. In Beta 26.2 it does work to remove the higlighted area but is frequently causing the program to crash.

I've finally found the library and reset the settings - seems to have worked. Many thanks!

Hello, I've just tried all the steps mentioned before and still have error message when trying to use the "Remove Tool" (the pink one): "Could not complete...". I am using Photoshop 26.2 on Windows 11. I have made a clean installation just before buying Photoshop and Lighthroom, a few days before.

Thank you for your answer. I uninstall Photoshop desktop 26.2 after trying numerous things that doesn't work. Version 26 of the desktop version seems to work fine concerning my erase tool issue. I am not the expert but probably a bug. Thank you anyway.

Hello again, unfortunately, I feel the need to make an update after what I wrote 9 hours ago. The Photoshop 26 continue to have error on the erase tool but less frequently. In the 26.2 version I hadn't any single chance to use the erase tool, which is a formidable tool. Moreover, now, with the version 26, I realized that I can't use the generative tools. What a disapointment!  I feel very frustrated and sadly, I don't think that I am the only one feeling that way. This is my first Photoshop, I have it for 9 days and wan't able to use it once decently.

@juliana63805571 try setting it to more stable in the preferences

If that doesn't help, try manually resetting your Photoshop preferences

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset
