Remove tool produces an undesirable texture-like pattern

I have found that the Remove tool is generally very good at what it does, but sometimes it produces an undesirable pattern that has the appearance of a woven cloth texture. It seems to be most prevalent when trying to remove a dark area that needs to be blended with a brighter area.

Here is an example screen shot of a partially shaded leaf in an image, where I have zoomed in to 200%.

I want to remove some of the shadow area using the Remove tool. I'm using a transparent layer above the image with Sample all layers checked. I paint around the dark area to be removed, as shown below

Applying the Remove, the result shows a regular pattern, as seen below, where I have selected the patch in the top layer to help show the removed area and highlight the texture-like pattern that doesn't exist in the original image content.

Although it hasn't done a great job of 'removing' the dark area in this instance, the purpose of this example is only to demonstrate the pattern it produces.

I expected a much better result than this, in which the texture of the removed area better matches the original image content.

Same. I'm experiencing this with the generative fill tool as well, the same texture as your example with both tools, mostly on skies in my landscape images. Using the spot healing brush works fine but it would be nice to use the new tools.

I don't remember this in the beta or the first release, but it's to the point now where it does this more often than not, and when it happens, the results are more unusable than they used to be. Jess McGovern calls it a "fingerprint" on her YouTube channel.

As I remember the pattern was present in all verions (beta and stable) but it strongly depeds on the image noise/grain amount.

LATEST

I've seen reports that this has been fixed but it's November tha 5th and I sill have it. Not just the AI remove tool either. THENOTHER TWO REMOVE TOOLS (whatever they're called) do it and the clone tool. Really annoying. I have the latest versions of everything. 🤷
