Removing Page Creases in 2-Page Layout

Now, I’ve been working on this project for a friend of mine, as well as my girlfriend, whose mom wants me to create and edit a video in the style of “Reading Rainbow.” The book in question is called “Waiting Is Not Easy,” and it was scanned from a book in the library. Since I was not part of scanning, it was in a 2 page layout, and I need some advice on how to remove the page division between the two pages.

Ignoring the apparent copyright violation, since the book sells for about $10 on Amazon, I suggest you buy a copy, remove the pages from the binding and scan them, eliminating the spine shadow and rippled pages problems. It seems far more practical than spending endless hours in a valiant attempt to salvage your current files.

Given the task. norman.sanders suggestion is by far the simplest solution.

Theoretically one cold use adjustment layers to reduce the shadowing but that would not address missing info as JJMack points out.

...and not ignoring the copyright infringement is probably the best idea (which is what you were saying, Norman). Penalties run between $200 and $150,000 according to Purdue University.

Right you are, Jane. What with a definition of "educational purposes," proving damages and other considerations, it is best to consult a lawyer. (In the spirit of full disclosure: my son is an Intellectual Property Attorney. When I ask about such things the first thing he asks is "Which party am I representing?" Then, when I try to get a quick ruling be begins with "It depends.."

Ask your son who will win if Disney is one of the parties and the other is (as an example) a teacher in a public school. Odds are in favor of Disney. They seek these things out and go after them with a strong legal team.

If I am reading your link right, it is a 1.16Gb download! Do you have an example page you can paste directly to this thread?

1.2GB on a slow downloading server. All scans look poor none wer4 flat on the scanner waves in all pages and the double page scans have shadows missing details and distortion. Not a job I woul want...
