Render Problem: 3D

Using TIFF files. Backgroung is a street view. I copy and paste a sign with transparent background. I make the sign layer 3D, and size it.Looks great. I save it before I render the layer. When I then render the 3D layer, the sign looks bad, all washed out. I'm following tutorials, and do not know why this is happening. Can anyone help? A sample pic of both is attached. You need to adjust the lighting and rendering. If you are seeing a dramatic change between preview and render, try two things:

1. In scene properties click remove hidden "backfaces"

2. Again in scene properties try "linearise colors "
