Rendering Text Problem

Hi everybody.

I tried to create some cool 3D text by using 3D option in Photoshop but I faced a problem.

The Right side picture is the text I created in Photoshop CS 6 (2012) and there were no problem.

But the Left side one is my work in Photoshop CC 2017. Both images are captured from the beginning of Render Process, But The one which is for CC 2017 remained noisy at the end and never got better that what you see in the picture.

I tried many ways but none of them helped me.

Please tell me if anyone knows a solution.

Hi

What are your 3D Render quality settings in Preferences?

The other difference - it looks like your background is white in one and grey in the other

If you want to put up a link to the PSD I will take a look at it for you

Thanks for responding.

This is my 3D settings

Both Backgrounds Were white... (the right one looks grey because it's for middle of the render)

What should I do?

Without seeing the rest of your settings particularly the lighting and materials then I would only be guessing.

Take a look at all your lighting : Global, IBL, Individual Lights such as infinite /spots etc and any illumination settings on the textures.

If you put up a link to your PSD(s) I'll take a look. But it may be in the morning (it's getting late here in the UK )

Dave would it be useful to know the OP's system specs and the image size? If the render never seemed to go anywhere, then it might be that the OP is using marginal hardware. Just a thought.

Good point Trevor.

On the face of it - the spec in the last post should be capable of a simple 3D text render - but it would be good to see the full spec.

EMastermind

The light settings should be set for every 3D scene you create. Just as when taking a photograph you have to get the lighting right, it is the same in 3D scenes.

The light controls are under the properties section when you choose the following in the 3D panel

Environment - The properties allow you to set the Global Lighting - think overall background lighting and the Image Based Lighting (IBL)

Individual Lights e.g. Spot , Infinite , Sun - These are in the 3D panel and properties for each will appear when the light is selected in the 3D panel

Illumination - individual models or parts of models can be made to glow and give of light. Select the material and in properties look at illumination.

You are not using a legitimate copy of Photoshop. Adobe do not make a Perpetual Version of CC2017. I cannot help you further

Actually I don't know where to find these settings and don't know how to put a link in my psd file.

I remember never did any change to any options or settings (because I tried reinstallation with removing previous performances.)

My OS is Win 10 pro (fully updated)

Photoshop CC 2015 (32bit) , Photoshop CC 2017 (64bit)

I'm using 2017

my laptop has a GT 920m (2GB) (v 384.94)

I turned on High Performance for photoshop in Nvidia Control Panel.

and...

intel Core i3 5005U is my CPU.
