Question

Rendering videos on Photoshop using a document with an Artboard

Hi,

I´m using Photshop CC and I'm rendering a video for a client. The document was created with Artboards ON, and now that I'm exporting the video it adds a lot of blank space around the visible area.

The Artboard is 800x800 px but when I'm exporting the video it says the document size is 1600x1600, effectively adding a black space on the resulting video.

This is super annoying. I tried Disabling the Auto-Size canvas on the Artboards Gear Icon, tried using the slice tool, and even cropping the image, but when the video is rendered, even tho I set the size as 800x800, it keeps adding the black space around the video.

Is there a way to fix this? !

Hi @bernardos7980305 and @Gary31700744yusm, Welcome to the Photoshop Community forums! Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Trim Transparent Pixels: Go to Image > Trim and select Transparent Pixels to remove any extra space.

2. Disable Auto-Expand Canvas: Make sure Auto-Expand Canvas is turned off in the Artboard gear icon.

3. Use Render Video: Instead of "Export As", try File > Export > Render Video and manually set the size to 800x800 px.

4. Flatten Frames: In the Timeline panel, choose Flatten Frames Into Layers to ensure the export respects the artboard bounds.

5. Check for Hidden Content: Use Select > All, and then Image > Crop to remove any off-canvas elements.

If you're still having issues with exporting, let us know and we can try a few other things. I hope this helps! ^CH
