Hi,
I have been supplied with a series of banners (lots of sizes) - with each size supplied as an artboard in seperate psd: eg:
320x480.psd
480x320.psd
I want to duplicate then into one psb with a seperate artboard for each size so I can make global text/image amends using the smart ojects
If I duplicate the layers from one document to the other - all the layers and smart ojects are copied over with the same sames. so I end up with eg:
320x480 (artboard)
text (smart oject)
image (smart oject)
480x320 (artboard
text (smart oject)
image (smart oject)
But ... the smart objects are not the same - when you open them the imported version will have a '1' suffix - so global changes don't work.
Is there a way of replacing all the duplicatesso all my 'Text' and ' Images' smart objecst the the same? with out having to do it manually or change them all the linked items?
in AE I can alt drag a comp onto another selected comp from the project window and it does this - maintaining position, scaling etc.. hoping something similar - but I can't find it.

You might be able to link the smart objects in the individual files to two exported files via an Action, provided the names are identical in all the files.

Then in the »collected« file you could embedd the Linked Smart Objects again.
