Resize + align multiple different product images (not in layers) and general worflow in PS

Hi all,

Quick question.

We recently shot around 150 different sunglasses for a client from two angles.

The client wants 1024x1024 pixel images on a white background.

What will be the fastest way to resize the images where the glasses are in the same position in the frame in all the images without doing this manually one by one with guides (keep in mind that each image is a little different, some glasses are bigger, some smaller, some wider some a bit to the left, right, closer or further away from the camera), all are with the white background though.

It would also be helpful to hear some suggestions on general workflow that you think is good for this project - we thought of fixing one in ACR and applying the fixes to all the others although I am not sure its a great idea since some glasses are darker and some are not and applying the same settings might not result in a good result - suggestions?

Centering the images is fairly easy, but the center of the bounding box won't be the same with different angles. I'm a product photographer and have an action where I select the background, remove it, center the image, and then flatten.

Please provide 2 or 3 sample JPEG files at original resolution and edited versions of the final resized 1:1 crops so that an automated routine can be created. The colour correction, retouching and other post processing isn't important at this point.

Hi Stephen and thanks for getting back to me.
I was just thinking that somebody could explain to me what to do and I will do it myself (this is how you learn right?).

If this is overly complicated I guess I can provide the images (the originals are 60MP each so we are not talking small files here plus I am not sure if the right way is to start from RAW which will give me much better play with editing in ACR or JPEG).

I see - OK.
I'll edit a couple of images tomorrow and post the links here as they are going to be way larger (the originals) than 47MB.

If you resize a few examples from different angles to say 50% or 25% size and save them as high quality JPEGs, I can always resize them back to 200% or 400% for testing. This shouldn't affect the results of automation testing too much.

It depends on the "white" background colour and whether there are strong shadows or not (softbox, diffusers) that will affect automated subject selection.

Also having final examples of the crop, margins, position etc. is helpful so that we know what you are aiming for.
