Reverse colour on overlapping images and text

Hi,

I'm trying to invert the colours where there is an overlap.

I found that if I change the layer effect of the circle to "Divide" it gives the effect I want on the lettering but not on the main image of the Treble Clef.

Any idea for a solution would be great, thanks.

    Hi

    You could do this:

1.Put the three layers into a group.

    2. Change the group blending mode from pass thru to normal

    3. Set the two shape layers to divide blending mode

    4. Set the fill/stroke color of the shapes to just above black (say RGB 1,1,1)

if you have the circle and the clef on separate layers, try Difference. The reversal is automatic and movable

Thanks everyone, I have managed it by grouping the objects and using divide blending mode

Use the PATH / SHAPE feature. I created it using the Combine Shapes option. This may be what you want.
