RGB Colour Shifts

Greetings,

I am working on a colour critical project. I use master swatches to tweak the product colours.

I have a set of master colour swatches of approved colours set up in an RGB/8 bit layered Photoshop document.

When I drag the swatches into a different RGB/8 bit document, (the product shot), the colours shift slightly…enough that it is noticeable.

Any ideas?

Correct answer WillyBee

I figured it out late last night.

The product images provided were digital photos with an embedded Adobe RGB profile.

If I converted the document profile to working RGB SRGB IEC61966-2.1, my swatches came in exactly correct with no shifts whatsoever.

Thanks for the responses.

Please set the Status Bar to »Document Profile« and post meaningful screenshots.

What color space are you working in? Is the profile embedded in the file?

Numbers are relative to color space. The same numbers will yield different colors in sRGB/Adobe RGB/ProPhoto etc. The color space is the definition of the numbers as colors.
