Right to Left Text (was: Photoshop CS6 User Manual)

I am trying to use the Text box to add text to my projects in Photoshop CS6, but when I type the text is written from right to left and when I want to put a space in between numbers and letters the whole keyboard changes. For instance, if I want to put a mobile number with iits international code in: +44 (0) 123456789, the keyboard will write 12345 (0) +44 instead of +44 (0) 12345. In other words the keyboard reverses when the space bar is pressed and you then have to use CTRL to sort out the right way for the bracket. It is really doing my head in, what i want is for to right the text left to right like normal.

Can you help, please?

Hi

Go to Preferences > Type and make sure your Text Engine is set to East Asian

Note - the screenshot is Photoshop CC2019 as I no longer have CS6 installed but if I remember correctly it was similar.

Hi Dave

Many many thanks for your help, you wouldn't believe how frustrated I was getting, I tried and tried to find the answer through youtube etc. but to no avail, and coming on here was my last resort, and I even found it hard to explain what was wrong cos I was so angry and couldn't get my head round to putting it into words,, but I shouldn't of been.....so many many thanx for you help on this....and it is working great now (for the time being) lol.

just a sneaky one here Dave, and I know its not Adobe orientated, but if I may ask, I have been trying to find where to make the i (lower case) into I (upper case) automatically in word, when I type the letter I, anyway you could tell me how to sort it please?

Many thanx again for your help

Hi John,

It's in AutoCorrect. Here is a screen shot from the Mac version of Word. In Windows it's in File > Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options.

Hi,

What language are you using? Check to see that you are not using Arabic. Can you show your Character panel from the Window menu > Type and Tables?
