Question

Ruler always resets to measurement in pixels

Hello everyone,

since some months I have a not serious but very annoying problem and I was in hope since then, that any further update will solve it. But it didn’t  :o(

In the preferences, I choose the unit "Centimeters" for the ruler (and tried inch etc. too), but only some seconds later and especially quick when picking a guide line from the ruler, it will reset to "pixels".
I often work with centimeters because the majority of my jobs is for printing - so I don’t need the size info in pixels! Is there anyone with the same problem? Or anyone who can help?

My system: Mac Pro 2010 with graphic card 3GB (Metal runs...), Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra, Photoshop is always up to date (actual 21.1.0)

Thank you!

I have not noticed that myself but ctrl-clicking a ruler and setting the unit there might be faster than doing it via the Preferences.

    Hi and Thank you!

Of course I tried that too - or rather I’m doing so some times per minute  ;o))
But while doing any other action like generating guidelines, generating a selction box etc.,
it will always snap back to pixels.

That sounds peculiar enough that it may merit some basic trouble-shooting; restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point, though there are no guarantees:
