Running Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC Simultaneously?

Hello!

Is it possible to run CS6 programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) simultaneous to the new Creative Cloud suite?

I am looking to upgrade but am worried as I am not sure my MAC is compatible. I tried to upgrade my Mac to High Sierra and CS6 stopped working and rolled back to Sierra but am looking to upgrade my Mac OS to latest version and understanding that CS6 may or may not work. I just want the rollback option in a worst case scenario.

Also will be travelling to remote areas of Africa and won't always have internet access, so trying to do all this before I head out at end of May, test everything and see that it works. But I want the option of CS6 on my system should I have some issue with Cloud apps in the field. I am assuming I only need a connection if I want to do an upgrade with CC apps? How does that work?

Yes, that will work fine. Major versions are independent installers and independent applications that live quite happily together on the same system. On Mac I think you can even have both open at the same time. Dot releases overwrite the previous dot release.

You need internet access to install, and then normally once every 30 days to verify the license. However, the application will keep working for up to 99 days without an internet connection, but you will get reminders and nag screens on opening.

I have both versions installed and I can run them independently. You should be just fine.

    You can check the OS requirements for CC here:  Photoshop Help | Photoshop User Guide

    Something to keep in mind that CS6 was released in 2012 (I believe) so much has changed between that version and the more recent CC apps.

    Thank you! I'm sure the versions are worlds apart. I would want 6 still as a backup and also, things are quite far behind in the parts of Africa I work in and most people are using very old versions of the program here, so just good to have an oldie and a newie!
