That has nothing to do with Photoshop and everything to do with the file associations in your operating system (Windows).

You need to go to Windows > Settings >Apps and Features > Default Apps >Choose default applications by file type and make Photoshop the application associated with PSD files.

Hi thanks for the swift reply,
The sketch up icon when double clicked opens in sketch up. If you open it through photoshop it will open the file as the original. The thing is If I send this to someone they will double click the icon to open, then this will open in sketch up. Is there another way to make it save as a photoshop icon rather than a sketch up one?
Many thanks

"The thing is If I send this to someone they will double click the icon to open, then this will open in sketch up." Why do you say that? Is it not a .PSD file? I'd say your system has a set up problem, but not everyone else's. What exactly is the file type (the last bit of the name)? If you don't know, what format did you choose to save it?

Does it open OK when you start Acrobat and use Open from the File menu? If so then it is fine, just don't use double click to open.
