Hi - that box shows that you are significantly increasing the pixel size not decreasing it

Your image ends up at 2446px x 1181 px with a file size of 8.26M) but the starting point is only 580 x 280 px (475.8k).

Generally - for an increase in size I would say use Preserve Details or Bicubic Smoother as the algorithm rather than Automatic. These may work better but neither are going to give you brilliant results with a such a high increase in pixel size.

If you reduce the size with "Resample" checked then you are throwing away pixels so it is bound to deteriorate, even with the best resampling algorithm

If you are trying to get to a specific pixel size then that is unavoidable.

If you are reducing the size in mm or inches - make sure you do not have the Resolution set too low (you could even uncheck resample and no pixels will be lost, the resolution is increased to compensate for the reduced reported size in inches)

I've already tried this and it still doesn't work, the picture is still completely broken. I tried to resize te same picture on my friend's mac and it worked perfectly. But thank you for the answer.

Can you post a screenshot of the Image size box just before you click OK and a screenshot at 100% of the downsized image (just show a part that is broken if the content can't be shared)
