Scratch disk full on Photoshop 7.0 [2018]

I have Photoshop 7.0. I just bought a new laptop and now when I try to open Photoshop I get an error that the scratch disks are full. How do I correct this? Thanks in advance.

The disk is too big for Photoshop 7, it was created when 1 TB was unimaginably large. Reduce free space below 1 TB or upgrade Photoshop.

My Photoshop 7 works on my new Dell laptop with Windows 11 Pro and a 2TB SSD. It installed and started up with no problems and everything on it works. It had always worked on Windows 10 for me.

In Adobe's view, that happened in 2003 when Photoshop 8 (CS) was released, and it was final in 2006 when support ended (though support doesn't cover future system and hardware changes, only critical bugs). You could have had a reduced price upgrade to Photoshop 8 (CS) or Photoshop 9 (CS2). Adobe's business model is that you upgrade every 18 months-2 years.

Thank you for your help, Dave. Can you tell me if Elements 2018 is a

comparable product to 7.0? Thanks in advance.

Photoshop 7 was supported on Windows 2000, 98 and XP. But support of all kinds ended over 10 years ago... astonishingly, some people still manage to get it going in Windows 10, but this is going to need increasing amounts of work and compromise.

It sounds like you have not been able to open Photoshop to set up a scratch disk at this stage.

How many drives does your laptop have, and how much free space is on it/them?

What operating system are you using?

I have drive C plus and an external drive. C has 1.73TB available and the

external drive has 514GB free. I also have a drive labeled "Recovery D" (I

have no idea what this is - I thought it was supposed to be my DVD drive)

and it has just 1.61GB free.

The disk is too big?? Why was Photoshop working on my old laptop which had

a 500GB hard drive but it is not working on my new laptop with a 2TB hard

drive? This makes no sense.
