Screen not redrawing

I've just updated to this new version of photoshop. Im experiencing strange behaviors  - my file is not redrawing when I draw, hide or show layers or use adjustment layers.

I´m having the same problem since I´ve updated the software today. Now every time i try to do something like edit a text, move an image, scale it or anything else, ( even hidding and showing guidelines or grids ) the last instance remains frozen in the original place and Photoshop even acts on its own changing some graphic characteristics of other items on my layers.
I had a book to complete today and i spent the entire afternoon fighting Photoshop. I had to keep saving and reloading everytime i moved , scaled or changed anything. Im going crazy with this , I have work to deliver to clients and its impossible to work with Photoshop now as it seems to have a mind of its own and "freezes" instances and moments in time creating a real mess on screen that does not refresh at all.

I unchecked "Legacy Compositing" checkbox  in Preferences>Performance , and relaunched Photoshop. This seems to have cleared up the problem.

Thanks robclarke2005, you saved my life.
Funny enough I´ve had this legal Photoshop copy for two days and were two days of trouble after trouble that I never experienced when I was just playing with a pirate copy. 🙂 The moment i decide to ditch the bootleg copy and subscribe to Adobe, I loose a day and a half of work for some tech trouble for which there was no explanation anywhere.

Where is that located -- I don't see it. I have to zoom in and zoom out to get the screen to redraw the patches that don't show -- I am on a PC for the first time -- I am even more a Mac advocate. Too many bugs I've never encountered on a Mac. I love Macs. May need to reevaluated this graphic design job that uses PCs. In over 25 years in graphic design, this is the first job that I have had to use a PC and it has slowed my productivity by half and my frustration consumes me. By the way... is it me or anyone else is also having trouble with some brushes ? I just notice that a bunch of them now have huge lags when trying to sketch or paint with a natural gesture...

I get a legal copy of Photoshop and now I start to have problems that I never encountered before in a bootleg copy ?!!! I´m starting to get to be really frustrated with this new subscription now... I use photoshop a lot for illustration too and if somee of my favorite personal brushes now lag like crazy ... what´s the point ?...
Help !
