Question

Script error run within an action

Windows 10. PS version 24.6. I've been running a script successfully in an action but it suddenly stopped working yesterday, throwing up the illustrated error. The script is designed to change the scale of an embedded object. As I said, it's been working fine for over a year but yesterday started throwing up the error for no apparent reason.

Any help, advice would be most gratefully received.

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Actions with the fully expanded Action, Options Bar, …) visible?

Many thanks for your prompt response. The 2 screenshots I posted should show everything but I've re-attached them here in case not. The action places an embedded object, a 2cm digital scale from the desktop into the image. The script should then size the scale to the correct proportion. This in turn replaces the original scale.
I have attached a shot of the desktop showing the scale and one of a finished image for illustration purposes.
If this does not help, please don't hesitate to get back to me and I'll try again.
With thanks.

The error is clearly layer related, but your layer panel isn't visible when the error appears – so we can't see why or really comment.
