I bought a Surface Book and installed photoshop there, in order to be able to draw 'on the road'. I've got a home pc though. But when I open the program, all the script like the writings on top but also all symbols, toolbars are tiny. I almost can't read them and it feels like they are 2pt small. I tried to change it with Pre-Settings (de: Voreinstellungen) > User's Surface (de: Benutzeroberfläche) > UI = Big. But somehow it even got smaller! After about 5 minutes my eyes began to hurt because it's so tiny! I can't work like that! Does anyone have an idea?
it will never be available in CS6. CS6 is "end of life". If you upgrade hardware or systems or cameras or monitors, expect to budget for software upgrades too. $10/month for Photoshop now includes future upgrades.

I forgot to mention that I've got the old photoshop version (CS6 2012). I tried to do what you advised me to, but I fear this option is not yet available in my version ><. There is only one UI-option where I can choose between Big / Middle / Small - and it is already on big...
Do you have another idea?

you'll need to upgrade to a more current version of ps to fix that, Creative Cloud pricing and membership plans | Adobe Creative Cloud
(or downgrade your monitor.)

Support at Adobe suggested too I downgrade my monitor... It infuriated me that that was their fix for this issue. Let me spend thousands on a camera and lenses to get a high quality RAW image and then edit it on a crappy display setting...

actually, adobe's fix was to upgrade their software to work with the latest hardware.
imo, you can't expect software companies to update their older software to work with hardware that wasn't available when their product was released.

... I dont have their older software. I have the latest, most updated version, you know, per the first sentence of my reply.

then what's the problem?
100% is too small and 200% is too big?

Correct. 100% is too small and 200% is odd. It's like almost comically big? It makes the area where you can edit the photo almost less than half the screen. There has to be a happy medium.

i'm not sure it will do any good, but request a slider/variable settings option, Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Who invited me? That would be this:
The UI is stupidly small...-)

@Jonathan_Ellis You appear to have joined the middle of an almost 6 year old thread in the Photoshop forum to raise an issue with Adobe Animate? If you have an issue with animate I suggest you start a new thread at the link below and clarify your issue in your post there.

i too am having this problem but have the newest CC version. I have the 200% option but honestly, it makes everything too big and really degrades it. I've called Adobe support twice; the first gentleman kept telling me im stuck with the small font, the second suggested that I change PS running off my Intel GPU to my Nvidia GPU. I did and it still didn't work.
Just so you know, this is a huge problem out on the interwebs and Adobe doesn't care about it and tells people it's their monitor's fault. Well, I found this... Adobe App Scaling on High DPI Displays (FIX) | Dan Antonielli
I suggested this fix to the two support people I talked to; the first was confused and the second suggested I don't use any third party patches. THANKS ADOBE! HERE'S MY 9.99 THIS MONTH!!!
Anyway, I am not technically savvy with computers and have not tried this yet. Let me know how it works.

First of its a HACK
The minute you do a PS update the HACK will no longer work.
Secondly there is a fast ring insider build out from Microsoft that should fix the issue in the next 30 days.
another option would be to attach a second larger monitor with a lower resolution.
Been complaining about this for over a year. If is a simple solution I am sure it would have been fixed long ago.

The Antonelli fix is the only one that works. I have new high DPI monitors and I need to use the fix with Dreameaver 6, Photosohp 6, InDesign 6, and the updated subscription versoin of LightRoom Classic. Although Antonelli suggests setting the DPI choice to "System (Enhanced)" I find that plain "System" works better. Experiment and you'll get it right. Use the 2019 version of Antonell's fix, at https://danantonielli.com/app-scaling-on-high-dpi-displays-fix-2019. It's a simple fix, and having to redo it every now and then after an upgrade isn't really a burden.

That is not really a fix as it scales the document space as well as the UI. That means that you can no longer rely on 1:1 image pixel : monitor pixel mapping at 100% zoom for critical image adjustment. So it makes the UI a workable size but also breaks the critical adjustment of images for noise and sharpness. That is why the real fix is in the updated CC software
