Select and mask

Community Beginner ,

I'm having a problem with the select and mask interface. The preview overlay and other view modes do not update. When I output to a new layer with layer mask the mask has the updates but the preview hasn't shown them, If there is a mistake I'm either going back to select and mask or having to work on the layer mask.

I've tried most of the usual things except a reinstall.

Hi there, try to reset the Photoshop preferences first: Preferences in Photoshop

Can you post the screenshot of what you see on your screen in order to show us the problem? Do you mean the tool is not showing the selection you are doing but it appears once you apply it?

Cheers,
Martin

Have you tried resetting the Select and Mask workspace?

Hit the button circled below and let us know if this takes care of the issue.

Hi

Are you working on a duplicate image layer? If so turn the visibility of the image below off otherwise masking in select and mask just reveals the same image below.

Do you have the transparency slider at 0%? If so move it to the right.

Do you have show original checked? If so press P to turn it off/on.
