Question

Selling a mockup with linked .mov file

Hi, I am making a stationery mockup with 3 layers; the background image, the smart object for the buyer to insert the card design and a .mov file on top for animated shadows. Is there a way to give this to the client without packaging the .mov file as a separate entity? I don't have rights to just resell the shadow .mov and it is needing the client to relink the .mov layer upon opening.

Is there a way to either merge the background and shadow layers into an animated layer (that can still have the card design uploaded "between" them? Or a way to embed the .mov file instead of linking it? (When I try embed vs. linked it still does the same thing)

Unless your buyer has a copy of Photoshop I can't see how this could be implemented for succesful distribution to others.

They would have photoshop. I would sell it as a .PSD file for them to add their own artwork. However, they are getting prompted with this message, and I want to know if it's possible to embed the .mov layer rather than "link it"

You might be better with InDesign for a project like this – would your buyers be likely to have that application?

Yes, but I'm not sure how it would work in InDesign myself haha
