Please provide the Action or at least a screenshot of the fully expanded Action in the Actions Panel.
Why don’t you use »Insert Path«?

That is absolutely correct. For troubleshooting, we need to know what exactly the action does and which steps are executed in which order with which options in the action.
We also need at least one screenshot of the correct result of the action and one screenshot where the action was not executed correctly. (You may also need to provide two sample documents and the action to reproduce the problem).

Perhaps percentage is making problem? It depends on orientation and dimensions of the document. If you record step in document 1890x1417px to draw vertical rectangle, playing that action in the document 1890x354px will create horizontal rectangle. Recorded data for test purpose: Top 4,9%, Left 5,1%, Bottom 63,4%, Right 21,1%. Percentages use for flexibility but beware of consequences.
