Sharpen Picture in AI

Hi there,

How do you sharpen a picture, image in AI?

That would be a Photoshop job.

When I do it in Photoshop, I pull up the Ai file on PS but it can back as Black and White.  Is that normal?

Why not simply open the original raster image in Photoshop and work with that, save, then Place as a linked file to keep the file size down?

Illustrator is a vector program. Photo editing for sharpening pixels should be done in the appropriate software, which is Photoshop as Jacob Bugge​ mentioned above.
