Shift Key not working properly after the latest update + big sur

Hi all

I was wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue that I've been having after the update.

My both left and right shift keys work and function fine and they've never been broken or anything. (works fine as I'm typing this also). However, any time I use the shift key functionality, such as keeping the same ratio while resizing, or connecting lines with a brush tool, it either gets stuck as if I keep holding down the key, or it doesn't work at all.

I can get out of it by pressing random keys and all and it works fine for a while again and does the same thing again.

Is this just me?

I'm using Macbook Pro + Latest OS + Wacom Tablet

A few thoughts…

  1. Have you tried resetting the Photoshop Preferences?
  2. Have you updated Photoshop?
  3. The CC app allows for multiple versions of Photoshop to be simultaneously installed. Is this issue only with this version of Photoshop?
  4. Could another program be hijacking the Shift key in some capacity?

I have the same issue with the shift key working intermittently.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  I have to tap the shift key several times in order to work and sometimes it works on the first try.  Alway happens when using Photoshop and Ilustrator.  I thought it was the keyboard at first.  I replaced the keyboard and the problem still exist. Working on a 2019 IMac + OS Catalina + Wacom Intuos Pro.  I have read that the Wacom tablet could be causing the issue, but I havent found a fix for it yet.
