Hello with PS CS6 and CS5 etc... using the \  a red mask appear and disappear on the open immagin, that's was very useful for retouching. Now i have just installed CC2017 and if i select the layer mask and press \ nothing happens!!! Looking around i see i can have the previous command using alt+shift+clicking on the mask icon, this slow a lot the workflow, There is a most fast wy to see the mask on the immagin?

thanks

Fabio

    Hi Fabio,

In the Channels panel, do you see CTRL+\ next to the layer mask layer?

If Dave's preference reset step didn't work for you, you can try holding CTRL+ALT+Shift when Photoshop starts to reset the settings file: blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2012/07/photoshop-basic-troubleshooting-steps-to-fix-most-issues.html#Preferences

I am using CC2017 on Windows here and the \ key works to bring up the red mask overlay on the image.

It is also still a published shortcut for both Mac and PC

Default keyboard shortcuts in Adobe Photoshop

You may need to reset your preferences if things are not behaving correctly

Hello. Neither Ctrl + \ or Shift+* are working for me to show layer mask. I have installed PS CC 2017.1.1 yesterday, upgrading from CS6. I have tried resetting the prefs using both methods mentioned here. Please help.
