simple tools missing

just  downloaded the new 2017 PS and most tools are missing.... example- rectangle tool (U) is there and NOTHING ELSE no Line, no polygon, no ellipse.... I did the reset workspace and still nothing.... I did select the photography option when downloading this new version and as i review the website, there appears to be 50 different editions and addons.....I JUST WANT BASIC TOOLS where are they?

    Photoshop CC allows you to customize your Toolbar with the tools you use most often.  Keep in mind that some tools are hidden behind other tools.  To reach them, you need to click & hold the little triangle on the tool icon.   See screenshot.  In this example, I selected the Paint Bucket tool and behind that is the Gradient and 3D Material Drop. 

    To add & remove tools from your Toolbar, click & hold the 3 dots icon as shown above.

    You'll be presented with a new screen showing your current Tools on the left + Extra tools on the right.  You can click & drag to re-order them any way you wish.  After customizing your toolbar, be sure to hit Save Preset.

    You can make multiple toolbar Presets and save them for use in other projects.

    Have you tried Window > Workspace > Essentials?
