This tool, when left clicked does not show the selection. It does initally yet when i click off of the tool the selection disappears. This is also the same for the single row marquee tool.

I am using Photoshop 2020. I have already tried disabling my graphics processor and re-enabling this, that didn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Could you please post a screenshot taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Toolbox, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible?

It seems when i zoom in at 100%, the marquee tool is visible however when i zoom out it is not. Note that i have not deselected the column selection, i have just zoomed out.

Well, it appears the »marching ants« may not be visible at all magnifications.

In the view where they are not displayed does hitting cmd-- or cmd-+ change that?

using ctrl +- (i am on windows PC) just changes the magnification, and at different parts of the magnification the marching ants are visible e.g 50%, 100%, 200%, 300% are the magnifactions that let me see the marching ants. Otherwise, i cannot see them
