Sky Replacement not working in photoshop 2024

I'm running PS 25.5.1 in PS 2024.  My sky repacement is not working and I have done multiple searches and keep getting responses for previous version of sky replacement.  I use this tool a lot and need it to work for my real estate photography business.

I select sky under Select but when I go to Edit Sky Replacement remains grayed out.  It used to work fine but this latest update or the one just prior has changed something and I can't find anyway to get it to work.  It has been suggested that I highlight the background layer of the photo first, but that doesn't do anything.

In order to use sky replacement you do not need to select the sky first. Photoshop will find itself the sky in the image…

Select the layer and go to menu Edit > Sky Replacement

Thanks didi, I have tried that but sky isn't highlighted in Edit even if I don't select sky replacement.  I'll try again, thanks for answering

I encountered the same problem. But after changing the color mode from 32 bits to 16, the function is enabled.

Strange… Have you check if your image is in RVB color mode, because it doesn't work for CMYK
