Slice tool in photoshop dropping letters from linked email address in pdf

Hi, I am trying to create a pdf presentation with a mailto: hyperlink in a photoshop 2018 pdf file.

I have used the slice tool and selected all oft he email address as typed with the text tool.

Then gone to edit > image> added in:

email

mailto:[email address removed by Moderator

_blank

So far so good.

BUT when I open the pdf in preview the clickable email address drops the first two letters of the name on the email address, so the blank email that opens up is addressed to [email address removed by Moderator which is the same as above but missing "mailto:" and the first 2 characters of the email address]

I've tried editing all individual slice points, but no joy. Screenshot attached for illustration.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi @Jennie33931156qv80 this is a pretty convoluted workflow using Photoshop. I would export out the PDF then add the hyperlink in Acrobat. Much cleaner process.

Thanks for your reply Kevin.

This assumes I pay for Acrobat though, which I don't.

Any insight on how I might make it work within photoshop?

Hmm, tI tried that but still had the same issue. I used a free trial period and edited in Acrobat. Will try and find another solution for future projects...

@Jennie33931156qv80, I note that the URL in your email address (redacted in text but visible in the screenshot) takes visitors to a site with a broken Flash app. Also, an email validator indicates: Classification: Risky. The email address is not a recognized role account; role accounts refer to email addresses that are associated with a specific function or role within an organization, rather than being tied to an individual person. Maybe that has something to do with your problem if you can't make the entire image a hyperlink as Kevin suggested.
