Slow Saving files with Photoshop

Can anyone tell me why it is that saving (command-s) a 25-35MB TIF file takes so long (30-40 sec). If I use "save as", the same file is saved within 1 sec.

Photoshop 25.4

Macbook Pro

1,4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5

Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB

16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

MacOS Sonoma 14.3

I discovered it myself. I open my photos from Lightroom, edit them in Photoshop, then write them away as a tif file. Because in Lightroom in the presets "external editing" Photoshop is listed and the compression was set to ZIP, it took so long to save a file directly when I used command-s. Now that I set the compression back to LZW, the same file is saved within 1 second. Everything is running as before!

I think an update to Lightroom set the preset to ZIP, otherwise I have no explanation for this.
Thanks for responses and thinking along.

Well this  helped me get to the bottom of my long save times when editing photos from LightRoom to Photoshop and back.  I had my LR preferences set to save as PSD.  I changed to TIFF,  16 bit and compression = None (only had a choice between None or ZIP).  Saves in a second rather than 30 seconds.

I often do layered work and like to save with layers intact so I can go back to the layers. Perhapds the PSD option does not work well with larger files?  Maybe needs a PSB option?

Where do you save to?

Is the tif flat or does it have Layers, Alphs Channels, …?

What are the file’s compression settings?

Can you provide the file?
