Hi,
I've updated Photoshop to its last version (23.1.0, Macbook Pro M1 2020, Big Sur 11.5.1), and for some reason it is now opening smart objects in preview, instead of Photoshop (as it used to do).
I really need to revert this behaviour, but I can't seem to find a place to adjust this.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Best,
Guido

Hi. Please change the default application for .psb files: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/choose-an-app-to-open-a-file-on-mac-mh35597/mac

.psb files are already set to open in Photoshop. The problem persists nonetheless.

I just noticed this just happens with a file that, for some reason, has pdf smart objects... any idea why they might be pdfs instead of psbs?

You should have started telling us about the pdf 😛
Maybe that Smart Object was created by importing a PDF. On Mac, the default app for open PDF files is Preview. You can rasterize the Smart Object or change the associate application for open PDF files.
