Some 3D functions are greyed out. Any help?

I'm experimenting with 3d panoramic painting but to do it I need access to the "paint system" window to activate the "projection" mode but it's actually greyed out.
Any suggestion? Image related!

You have the move tool selected in the toolbar. Select the brush and this should appear in properties

Painting on spherical panoramas changed a couple of versions ago. It used to be just painting the inside of a sphere model.

Can you include the 3D panel and Properties panel in your screenshot please so we can see what is selected within the 3D layer

You have the move tool selected in the toolbar. Select the brush and this should appear in properties

Painting on spherical panoramas changed a couple of versions ago. It used to be just painting the inside of a sphere model.
