We had some great entries in our last SFTW safety pin challenge, thanks to all who took part.
For this week we have a mystery. Who left their bike leaning on this well, and why did they do that? That is up to you to reveal !
The “rules”:
* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc
* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".
* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
* The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.
To download the image below at full size, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).
When posting back your image – please use the blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun
Dave

...sometimes there's nothing better than the traditional process! I still enjoy drawing, inking, applying watercolor techniques...then scan it in for some Photoshop...it creates a great mix media look. I enjoyed reading about your process.

I love this @Leslie Moak Murray and thank you for sharing your process. Where was the "Undo" button when you did the splatter with a toothbrush? 😊

Leslie and yourself put the rest of us to shame with your original artwork Murphy. Your new background is really quite beautiful. My mind is seeing a tentacle wrapped around the bike which is being waved in the air.

Trevor,
That's a great idea!!... You've also inspired me to animate this piece! If I have some time, I'll post a second image later this week. Thank you for the kind message. -murphy

Agree with Trevor. Murphy - you and Leslie are in a league above the rest of us. Well done for inspiring us well as showing us up 🙂

Here's a look at my process...click here. I often combine vintage postcards with my photography + the source image!
I'm really loving the challenge! THANKS SFTW. -murphy

Good use of the well, the bike may need extra pedals if the octopus is going to ride it !

Thank you for showing your two starter images, Amy! I love that a bucket has fallen into the water. It's a lovely composition.
I've been to both Forest Park and the Tidal Basin dozens of times. Somehow I've never seen the "Band Stand", but I'm guessing that's for outdoor concerts? I always liked to stop at the zoo to break up a 16 hour drive to visit relatives.

WOW! I that's really something that you've been to Forest Park. I LOVE THE ZOO too. Going to St. Louis was the only vacation that my family could handle...the perfect distance...a tolerable distance! : ) It was 5 hours from our home. The City Museum is a cool place also (if you're ever back in the area). Thanks for the comments. (so busy with work...I didn't see these messages till now!) -murphy

That's cool, @mamma murph ! You must have gone to Silver Dollar City at least once? Shepherd of the Hills? School of the Ozarks?
When things settle down a bit with Covid, I've been trying to think of a destination for a road trip. St. Louis would be perfect because it's so much a part of my life and always has been. It's 14 hours from my house.

@jane-e I've visited Washington DC and St. Louis...but not Branson, MO (yet).

I think that is the first inspiration card we've had in SFTW. It fits with both the image and this weeks challenge title - well done !

I'm going to say, "Well done" just like Dave, Jain — not just because it's beautiful and clever, but also because I love puns!
Congratulations on your second first!

Ah, thanks, @jane-e for your kind words! Ha... I didn't even get Dave's pun until you pointed it out. My association skills must be waning. Oh, well....

Surprised no one went darker and had the girl from The Ring crawling out of the well. 😉

Super idea, @KShinabery212 . ❤️ It would be awesome if you did that! The next challenge will go up on Friday the thirteenth, so you have plenty of time.

It reminds me of those old TV sequences where they were going into, or coming out of, a dream.
