Community Expert ,

Hi,

Thanks to Ged for setting up our last challenge with the traffic cone, and also to all who responded. There were some great entries.

Many people say they have a lot on their plate. Well this week you have the chance to show us what is on yours!

The “rules”:

* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc

* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".

* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!

* The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.

To download the image below at full size, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).

Dave, this render is stunning, and once again we'll have to trust you that you didn't sneak in a photograph!

The one perfect place setting reminds me of Downton Abbey, but I'm wondering if the butler hasn't gotten to the one to the right yet or if there is a more interesting reason that it is in disarray...

😊

The one on the right is at right angles Jane. No need to sack the butler 🙂

That said, there is no napkin on the other place setting so perhaps the butler did get distracted. I would ask what the butler saw but that might generate the wrong type of entries.  🙂

An elegant place setting deserves an elegant meal.

That's a clever idea and is well done.

Jane, thanks for posting that video. It is very well made and must have taken an age to make

There is a lot going on there Ged. 🙂

Technically, you've done a great job with the liquid in the glasses.

Dave, I think 90% of the time it took was spent removing the original content.  Now I think of it, it might have been quicker to find or reporduce the texture of the cloth, and cover the original.

Welcome MrPW - although I think you may have joined SFTW in the past with a different username?

You would need to watch your fingers near that plate which may already be the reason the setting has been turned around for a left handed diner ? 🙂

James, if Ged is Baron Bizarre, then you would have to be The Duke of Darkness.  Were you a Goth when you were younger?  I love what you do, but I worry about what drives it.  I've got some of those Anaglyph 3D glasses somewhere.  Is it worth digging them out?

A very long time ago, we had a family trip to Alton Towers in the UK.  That included a 3D experience with a short Michael Jackson film with added effects like lasers synced to ray guns on the screen, and there might have been water jets fired from the back of the seat in front of you. After it finished, we compared experiences, and my sister-in-law said she was really lucky, because her seat was exactly where the 3D effects were aimed at. 🙂  It was a bit like one of the Disney or Universal Studio rides where the guide warns that, 'They were sorry that the people on the right were going to get a bit wet.'  And after a tiny pause to allow that to sink in, she continued, 'That's because the people on the left couldn't stopp all the water!'
