Hi
Thanks to all who took part in the our Halloween challenge.
This weekend, I bring you a photo of a bridge in Glen Affric, Scotland which I snapped a few years ago. It is a beautiful part of the world, but a rather ugly concrete and steel structure supporting the bridge. Can you use your Photoshop skills to smarten it up with something more in keeping with the surroundings?
The “rules”:
* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc
* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".
* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
* The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.
To download the image below, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).
When posting back your image – please use the blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun

He did. The green kayaker received a 5-second penalty from the F1 stewards, which he served during his subsequent pit stop where he traded his medium paddles for hard ones...

Rafael,
"So can kayakers!"
Unless they are sleeppaddling (or would that be sleepkayaking), in which case the somnambulism warning would be unseen by them (and hence by us).

@J E L - A good eye but not good enough memory to remember the number without looking through my SFTW files. 🙂

Nature!
First touches were in Lightroom. This could have been done in Photoshop with Camera Raw. Then, in Photoshop, I added some objects from other photos of mine and cropped the images.

Welcome to SFTW Ralph. That's an alternative way to improve the bridge - lots of excellent nature to distract from it 🙂

I like it. A diversion and the river becomes a spring. I like the bridge as a walkway 🙂

I can see this as the cover for a Daphne du Maurier novel!

Another alternative approach - make the surroundings as dark as the bridge. Nice job James.

Thank you. 🙂
Is it weird that I find this image comforting? (Minus the mysterious, ominous eyes, of course.) xD

Bridge under (no so) troubled waters:

That's very clever Joost, and moves the bridge out of that nice countryside.

A bridge in the mountains.

And we are even allowed to see its emerging, towards the groundworks on the far side, just as fresh water rushes in to wake the boat from its quiet slumber in the still lake.

Edit - Good grief, I did it again - sorry Dean!

Here I spruced it up a bit and added a covered bridge 🙂
