Thanks to everyone who took part in our last park bench challenge.
Regulars will know that sometimes we start with a scene and sometimes an object. This week we have the latter, in the form of a Yule-tide log. What can you make with it?
The “rules”:
* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc
* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".
* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
* The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.
To download the image below, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser). I've given you a head start by providing it in PNG format with transparency.
When posting back your image – please use the blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun
Dave

Welcome to SFTW Amybeth. That's another great use of the log.
If anyone else has an idea - you still have a little time left. The next SFTW, which will also be the last this year, will be posted tomorrow (Friday)

Is it a special memory log that shapes to your head? Looks very comfortable 🙂

Is it moulding to the person's head or is she sinking into it?

I don't remember why I was looking for such a thing, but I previously found pillows that look like logs...
which is what made me think to make this.
In the image, I used Liquify to try to make it look like it was an actual pillow. I also added the artistic filter "Underpainting" with the Texture set to "Burlap" to make it look more like cloth and blended that in with the original layer that had Liquify applied.

Myra, obviously a soft cylindrical pillow, and now you have given it its rightful name, and made it ready for marketing.

A very good idea and nicely done Myra, particularly with the extra fabric texture added to the wood.
