Hi,
We had some great images in our shaving brush challenge - thanks to everyone who took part.
Every project needs some milestones and this week we have ours. I wonder what it has seen as it sits by the side of the road. Can you show us?
The “rules”:
To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser). I've already put it on a transparent background, to save you time masking.
When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun!
Dave

Mars cognoscenti may recognize the object in the middle distance...

Very good Alan. That definitely put a smile on my face. It's also reassuring that if any of us do visit the Moon, we won't be getting lost.

Great! Can't wait to do this trek!

That's what we always needed in the Mars images, a sense of scale 🙂

Scale is hard in these kinds of images unless you're NASA and have all the calibration info. On the other hand, with no hard visual cues to contradict, you're free to imply whatever scale or perspective you want. For this one, I thought I'd have some nerd fun with anachronisms: an Apollo astronaut and the Opportunity rover landing platform at the official hiking trail through Gale Crater. Of course, the Curiosity rover is photobombing the lot. I do very little compositing in my professional work, so these little exercises are a great way to keep skills sharp.

@davescm maybe it's just a North American brand...I guess. It didn't get far enough to go international.

It's not just a North American brand. I've had it in African countries.

Made under license Jane. You _really_ don't want to know the African recipe for Cola!

Haha Trevor! Whatever it was, it hit the spot after hiking in the Serengeti!

Inspired by Xuxa's song?

Wow, you got it right.
That song:
"...Five little ducks went out one day
Over the hill and far away..."
now you'll suffer the curse of thinking about this melody the rest of the day, Lol
